Thematic relevance in SEO - Part 3

Thematic relevance is not easy to calculate due to the many parameters that make it up. Nevertheless, through its semantic audit tool, lent itself to the game.

Let's review the main steps performed by the algorithms (and in particular our audit tool) which calculate it:

  1. Crawl: extracting raw content from a web page
  2. Publication body analysis: identification of the main part of the web page
  3. Extraction of keywords: constitution of the list of keywords found in the body of the publication
  4. Extraction of themes: constitution of the list of subjects appearing in the body of the publication
  • Classification: allocation of a score to each subject

The notion of thematic relevance is much more complex.

In order to evaluate it, an algorithm must take into account the incoming links and the thematic relevance of each source (source page and source domain). The anchor texts, but also the context of the link, play an important role in assessing the value of each link.

SEO optimization of the theme of your website

Here are some tips to improve the thematic relevance of your pages:

  1. publish detailed content whose subject is comprehensively covered
  2. mesh your content in a relevant way
  3. get natural links (websites should be related to your topic) - not covered here
  4. get social signals from authoritative sites - not covered here

SEO strategies have changed little since the introduction of thematic relevance. Continue to do what you are already doing while keeping in mind the concept of thematic relevance. Persevere in obtaining links and social signals, continue to write quality publications while ensuring that it is well linked to your subject.

Focus on quality and don't hesitate to reduce the number of links, shares and publications to focus on a well-defined subject.

Optimizing your SEO strategy based on the topic will be inevitable in the long run. No magic tactic or trick will allow you to be among the first results effortlessly.
