Thematic relevance in SEO

The thematic relevance to measure the relevance of links used by a Web site.

Websites are constantly ranked by search engines. To do this, they use many factors. Some of these factors are more important than others. Thematic relevance is one of these criteria. It focuses on obtaining and optimizing links. They must point to relevant pages that share the same theme .

SEO aims to improve certain aspects of the content strategy in order to increase organic traffic. Since the update of the Hummingbird algorithm, keywords are less taken into account by Google while semantic search algorithms and the relevance of links are more important than ever. The thematic relevance of links is today one of the most important elements of the netlinking strategy or the internal networking strategy.

I usually tell my customers that an external or internal link remains a link in the eyes of Google. Think about it.

Keywords can be influenced and people sometimes use slight variations when they search. This is why, today, search engines take less account of search terms and seek to understand the meaning beyond the words as well as the intention of the internet user. In other words, the research context is very important.

Thanks to these new models and methods of indexing themes, links and pages (cf. the reasonable surfer's patent ), Google considers the relevance of a link according to its position on the page, its context and related topics on its source and target pages.
